THE EVERY WEDNESDAY MATINEE @ MPL
Montclair, NJ 6/1/18 – On Wednesdays at 2 pm, Montclair Public Library hosts The Every Wednesday Matinee, a classic film series presented in its auditorium. In July 2018, Patriotic movies will be shown. The movies are as follows:
July 6: SPECIAL FRIDAY MOVIE! 1776 – Starring: William Daniels, Howard Da Silva, Ken Howard .
A musical retelling of the American Revolution's political struggle in the Continental Congress to declare independence. (1972, 166 minutes, color).
July 11: Yankee Doodle Dandy – Starring: James Cagney, Joan Leslie, Walter Huston .
The life of the renowned musical composer, playwright, actor, dancer, and singer George M. Cohan. (1942, 125 minutes, black & white).
July 18: Sergeant York – Starring: Gary Cooper, Walter Brennan, Joan Leslie .
A marksman is drafted in World War I and ends up becoming one of the most celebrated war heroes. (1941, 134 minutes, black & white).
July 25: Mr. Smith goes to Washington– Starring: James Stewart, Jean Arthur, Claude Rains .
A naive man is appointed to fill a vacancy in the United States Senate. His plans promptly collide with political corruption, but he doesn't back down. (1939, 129 minutes, black & white).
