The Garden Club of the Caldwells will present a slide-lecture titled "Greenwood Gardens: Rebirth of a Private Estate as a Public Garden" featuring one of its founders, Sofia Blanchard, on Thursday, November 15 at 1:00 pm in the Community Room of the West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road.

Blanchard will share the history of this beloved property in Short Hills, NJ and discuss its remarkable transition from private to public garden. Comprised of 28 acres of an historic cultural landscape, Greenwood Gardens includes formal and Arts and Crafts style gardens, meadows, and woodlands as well as 11 historic buildings constructed between 1912 and 1950. Sofia and her husband Peter Blanchard III founded Greenwood Gardens with the assistance of the Garden Conservancy in 2003.

This program is free and open to the public. You do not need to be a member of the Garden Club of the Caldwells in order to attend. For more information, call the Library at 973-226-5441.
