Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. invites the public to celebrate the Fourth of July with three spectacular fireworks displays and exciting concerts by New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in Essex County Branch Brook Park on Friday, June 28th, Total Soul in Essex County Weequahic Park on Monday, July 1st and New Power Soul in Essex County Brookdale Park on Wednesday, July 3rd.

“Our Free Concert Series offers a diverse lineup of performers who will take center stage in venues throughout our historic Essex County Park System. Pack a blanket, enjoy the cool evening breeze and dance to the sounds of classical, rock and roll, jazz, big band, Latin and more. We have an outstanding line-up that is sure to entertain and impress,” DiVincenzo said. “An evening in the parks with some of the area’s most talented musicians and our Spectacular Fireworks Extravaganzas are the perfect shows for Independence Day. Come out and celebrate your Fourth of July with us,” he added.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Fireworks Display

Celebrate the diversity of the Americas with the NJSO! Explore the continents with concert, theater and dance music from Leonard Bernstein, José Pablo Moncayo, Astor Piazzolla, Florence Price, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin. Hear hits from “West Side Story” and “Porgy and Bess,” travel to Mexico with Arturo Márquez’s “Conga del Fuego Nuevo” and experience patriotic favorites along with Copland’s classic “Hoe Down” from “Rodeo.” In case of rain, the concert will be relocated the Cathedral Basilica in Newark and the fireworks will be rescheduled at a later date. The NJSO and Fireworks Display will be held as follows:

Total Soul is led by band leader Jeff Dieterle, who has performed with Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey. The band performs with the flair of a well-rehearsed show band, complete with front line choreography, exciting lead singers, hot horns and a grooving rhythm section. Total Soul and the Fireworks Display will be held as follows:
