Worldwide Recall as defective airbags act like shrapnel, killing multiple drivers

Posted

A worldwide recall is underway and a Japanese auto supplier is under fire after 3 or more people have been killed by exploding airbags. The airbags, defective and deadly, send out shrapnel-like pieces into their victims, that act like fatal stab wounds.
Currently, 11 different auto manufacturers and 14 million vehicles are included in this recall. These vehicles include passenger cars, SUVs and trucks.
Listed in this recall are: Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, BMW, some Ford,
Mitsubishi, Chrysler and Subaru.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released a statement last night, in part stating:
"The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration urges owners of certain Toyota, Honda, Mazda, BMW, Nissan and General Motors vehicles to act immediately on recall notices to replace defective Takata airbags."
Call your dealer immediately to see if your car needs to have its air bags replaced.
