Students Celebrate 9/11 National Day of Service by Serving Neighboring Communities
More than 200 Montclair State students work in neighboring communities with local township officials and Montclair State mascot, Rocky the Red Hawk 9/11 National Day of Service

Montclair, Little Falls, Bloomfield, Clifton, and Paterson
For the second year in a row, Montclair State students will travel to neighboring communities to pitch in and help by cleaning up litter, assisting senior citizens, harvesting vegetables, raking leaves, organizing playground equipment, and delivering food to a food pantry, among other volunteer activities. The students will assemble at Montclair State at 8 a.m. and travel via Montclair State buses to the locations which include: Montclair The Montclair Citadel of The Salvation Army A Lot to Grow, across from Mountainside Hospital at Bay Street and Highland Avenue, Montclair, 9 - 11 a.m. Clean-up up in various locations including Montclair Heights train station and Carlisle Road, Bradford Academy and adjacent playground area, Watchung Avenue train station and plaza, Upper Montclair train station and parking area, Edgemont Park and playground Little Falls Little Falls Municipal Building, 225 Main Street, Little Falls, 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. Bloomfield Beth Rehoboth Food Pantry, 55 Lawrence Street, Bloomfield Franklin Elementary, 85 Curtis Street, Bloomfield Clifton Washington Park clean-up St. Peter's Haven, 380 Clifton Avenue Daughters of Miriam, 9 - 11 a.m. Paterson CUMAC Food Pantry, 223 Ellison Street, Paterson Montclair State University Ben Samuels Children's Center, Clove Road General Campus Clean-up Media Coverage is Invited Montclair State University Montclair State offers the advantages of a large university -- a comprehensive undergraduate curriculum with a global focus, a broad variety of superior graduate programs through the doctoral level, and a diverse faculty and student body -- combined with a small college's attention to students.
