"There have been four locations identified (one in each ward). The plan is to have each location open for NNO from 5-7pm for the residents/businesses to visit and socialize with each other, as the MPD Motorcade rotates to the four sights with several pieces of equipment. Upon arrival to each site MPD CSU will join in the festivities, and interact with members of the community (giveaways for the youth, bikes registrations, Child Safety Seat checks/installation, displaying/showing the police equipment etc.). We are seeking volunteers to assist in this community event, if you are interested, please contact the Liaison Officer for the respective ward. Additionally, we welcome any business/organization to set-up a table or two to distribute information or giveaway items, so far we have a chiropractor that will be giving chair massages, someone that will be doing yoga, and a few food establishments donating treats. We will continue to invite/solicit local business/sponsors for food, drinks etc. for each site. We look forward to your participation in any way possible. We can be contacted at 973-509-4775."

Here is how you can help. This event is in October.

Dear Community Partner (resident/local business),

This is an invitation to participate in Montclair’s National Night Out. National Night Out is an annual event designed to strengthen our neighborhoods through police-community partnerships. The goal is to heighten crime prevention awareness, build support and participation in local anti-crime programs and, most importantly, it represents the kind of spirit, energy and determination that is helping to make many neighborhoods safer places to live. It is also the perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbors even better and promote your business.

We would appreciate your participation/contribution to this, our first National Night Out in several years. It will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 (5-7pm). There will be four separate locations (listed below) that will be visited by an MPD Motorcade. We look forward to a fun filled evening of community (residents/businesses) engagement.

If your business or organization would like be a partner/sponsor in this community event, please contact us so we can provide you with further information. Listed below are a few contribution ideas; however, we would greatly appreciate whatever you feel could assist in making this event successful. Please contact us as soon as possible at 973-509-4775.
