9/1 through 11/14 Everywhere Is the Best Seat is a one-of-a-kind sound and light installation by architect/composer Christopher Janney, conceived specifically for the Montclair State Amphitheater. Janney approaches aspects of architecture through his musical training, and this installation (active 24/7) underscores the unique interaction between sound and space in his work.

Montclair artist Gary Schneider will be featured in Collaborative Concepts, an annual outdoor group exhibition of over 60 art installations sited on 140 acres of rolling pastures in the beautiful Hudson Highlands at Saunders Farms, 853 Old Albany Road Garrison, NY 10524, Sept 5-October 31.

Classes, Auditions and Opportunities for Artists

The West Orange Arts Council invites artists and craftspeople to exhibit at its Ninth Annual Art Scene At The Green, an outdoor fall show and sale celebrating art and music at the Essex Green Shopping Center in West Orange on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. The rain date is Sunday, October 3th, 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. Exhibitors must be available both days. The Application fee is $40.00 and the deadline for applications is September 15, 2010.

A call for artists - Art Connections 7 Exhibition dates January 18-February 19, 2011.

Art Connections is the annual fund-raising event for the George Segal Gallery – the crown jewel of the Montclair State Art Galleries. Now in its seventh year, Art Connections has grown from a regional exhibit to one of national scope, encouraging artists in all media.

Artists are invited to apply to this exhibit, which offers an excellent opportunity for exposure and sales in a venue that is widely supported by Montclair State University’s alumni, gallery patrons, and the area’s many collectors, curators, and art dealers.

Postmark Submission Deadline: September 17, 2010.

Argos Gallery is inviting to the first edition of Global Faces of Contemporary Art those who seek to give a contribution to the art world, facilitating the dispersion of the global art discourses, providing a bibliographic source for future generations, promoting the quality and consistency of the artistic production and strengthening the ties between all kinds of professionals involved with art and culture around the world. The rules, terms, conditions and application form are available online on the gallery website, www.argosgallery.com, and will be closed on Oct. 1, 2010.

USArtists International

Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts support available for American dance, music, and theatre artists who have been invited to participate in significant international festivals and engagements outside of the United States and its territories.
