It's official: DeCamp drivers are on Strike
It's 5:00 a.m. on Thursday - do you Know Where Your Bus is?
DeCamp bus drivers are on strike.

At 5:00 a.m. today bus drivers for DeCamp Bus Lines officially went on strike.

The company has someone on their phones 24/7, and will answer your questions. No one knows how long this strike will last.

Negotiations broke down between the union members and management at DeCamp. Drivers have been working without a contract for a year, since September 2009.

If you are one of the approximately 7,500 people who need to get to NYC or local points along the DeCamp bus route, there are alternatives.

In the Caldwells, Verona, Essex Fells and Roseland:

take N.J. Transit Buses (see our schedule in BUSES AND TRAINS, PINK NAVIGATION BAR ABOVE).

You can also join commuters in Montclair, Glen Ridge and Bloomfield and take a N.J. Transit train into Newark or NYC.

As drivers strike, and fight for more money and/or benefits, one thing is certain: lending their customers to other methods of transportation - and N.J. Transit - is a big gamble, as N.J. Transit stands by to ferry these 7,500 commuters to their destinations.

Updates to follow.
