Sometimes, doing good deeds can warm you up - even during these sub-zero days.

A cold nip in the air could not deter warm hearts inside the Candleberry dining room Thursday night (February 12) at Crane’s Mill in West Caldwell. Nearly 135 people had a wonderful time at the Hearts of Hope event organized by Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey (LSMNJ).

The evening raised over $50,000 for three programs of this mission-driven non-profit. New Visions Homeless Day Shelter in Camden, the Good Samaritan Fund, and the Lutheran Feeding Friends ministries all benefited from the night’s proceeds.

This festive event will benefit three major, worthy endeavors in our area: Crane’s Mill Good Samaritan Fund, New Visions Homeless Day Shelter, and Lutherans Feeding Friends.

“Hearts of Hope” is the name for this event, which runs from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

They are looking to help support services for homeless men and women in Camden, including shower facilities, laundry service, breakfast and lunch, and access to social services; funds to assist food pantries and feeding ministries throughout New Jersey.
