Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci announces the Fall Yoga/Meditation Program will begin September 12, 2016. This class enables residents to get into shape through Yoga and build strength and flexibility through gentle exercises which utilize disciplined breathing and relaxation techniques. “With the high rising costs of outside recreational activities, the Nutley Parks & Recreation Department strives on offering high quality, affordable programs for adults and children to enjoy”, stated Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci.

Kim Stevens-Redstone will be the instructor for this program. She encourages beginner yogis to try new things, and experienced yogis to try new ways. Classes will focus on deep breathing and mindful movement. The practice will be tailored to your own personal abilities. Beginners are encouraged to join. As we do gentle stretches and coordinated breathing, we bring health and wholeness back to our bodies and minds. We experience the body/mind connection on the yoga mat.

Classes will be held at the Recreation Annex Building, at 65 Bloomfield Ave. Two sessions, have been scheduled to better accommodate residents busy schedules. Monday or Wednesday evening sessions will be held from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. and will begin September 12, 2016, continuing for 8 weeks. Pre-registration is required for all Yoga classes. Online registration is now available at https://register.communitypass.net/nutley or you may submit application to the Recreation Department, 44 Park Ave.

What a better way to release the tension from your body than relaxing through Yoga /Meditation. Become energized and improve your quality of life with this exciting program. Participants are asked to come prepared with a towel or Yoga Mat and loose, comfortable clothing.
