Caldwell Snowmen Giant Success
By Diane Lilli
Big Albert with some Caldwell friends.

If you venture over to Hatfield St, you will be greeted by a group of supermen, but don't be afraid.

Once it warms up, they will melt.

Residents on this quiet street seem to have all had the same idea as at least 5 creative snowmen have cropped up on their front lawns.

One snowman has a cat looking up to a bird, perfectly formed, that is cleverly resting atop the snowman's head - and out of reach of the feline.

Two more seem to be playing together, side by side.

Another one sports hair that needs a good cut.

And the biggest of the bunch (see photo)is happy fellow, with his big smile, hat, skis and even ice skates by his side.

20-year old Phil Natale said he was going for size when he started to craft his masterpiece, with pal Cathy Blugosh, 19.

"It took about 3 or 4 hours," he said.

When asked how he managed to put the huge snowballs on the middle and top parts of his creation he laughed and said, "I used a chair. It was heavy, but I did it."

The snowman, named Big Albert, will be lit up for all to view tonight.

Who says winter is boring?
