3rd Annual autism fundraiser at Franklin Steakhouse in Fairfield

Three times a charm for helping children with autism, as Franklin Steakhouse in Fairfield once again hosts a fun-filled fundraiser for this worthy cause.

April is Autism awareness month, and owner Frank Oliver said they are proud to continue their annual tradition of welcoming hungry customers on a very special day and night, April 14, and taking proceeds from their tabs to donate to 2 non-profits: New Beginnings and Autism Speaks.

Owner Frank Oliver said this is one event that is not only fun but also helps many, many children with autism.

"We raise money every year for this very important cause, and are very excited to do this again on April 14," he noted.

The event will be at the Franklin Steakhouse during lunch, dinner and also for snacks or drinks at the bar.

New Beginnings is a renowned school located in Fairfield, and is part of the Gramon family of Schools. The student body is populated with teens with special needs. Established in 1997, this school works with children on the autism spectrum.

About 1 in 68 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as reported by the CDC's Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network.
